Retail Assistant

We're looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Assistant to join our successful Royal Mail Parcelshop team at Earls Court.

Located alongside a busy Royal Mail Delivery Office, our Parcelshop helps customers send parcels and letters, purchase packaging and postage products, collect items and access Royal Mail services. This is a varied retail role that combines customer service, sales, administration and operational support.

Working as part of a small, close-knit team, you'll play a key role in delivering an excellent customer experience while supporting the continued growth of the Parcelshop.

• Deliver exceptional face-to-face and telephone customer service.
• Support customers with parcel, postage and collection services.
• Assist customers using mobile and self-service postage technology.
• Promote and sell packaging materials, postage products and Royal Mail services.
• Process customer transactions accurately using specialist systems.
• Handle personal data securely and in line with data protection requirements.
• Support parcel enquiries and liaise with Royal Mail operational teams.
• Contribute positively to a small team while being confident working independently when required.

Essential

• Minimum 1 year's experience in retail, customer service or another customer-facing role.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience dealing with challenging customer situations.
• Good computer skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
• Comfortable supporting customers with smartphones and digital technology.
• Good numeracy and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible.
• Able to work the required shift patterns.
• Willing to commit to a long-term assignment.
• Due to the size of the team, reliability, flexibility and attendance are critical to success in this role.

Desirable

• Previous experience in retail, logistics, postal, banking or service environments.
• Experience promoting products or identifying sales opportunities.
• Additional language skills, particularly Spanish, Italian or Portuguese.

Full training will be provided on Royal Mail products, services and Parcelshop systems. You'll join an experienced and supportive team committed to helping you succeed.
